SBI Clerk Exam 2020

State Bank of India (SBI) conducts a common recruitment exam to fill vacancies for the ā€˜clerkā€™ post. Those who qualify the SBI Clerk Exam, get a job in various SBI branches across the nation and are hired as a Clerk in the prestigious State Bank of India.

The State Bank of India released a recruitment drive for the posts of Junior Associates for Customer Support & Sales. The total no. of vacancies announced are around 8000.

After you join the SBI as a clerk, you will be working in Indiaā€™s largest bank and getting a handsome salary along with other allowances. Your initial SBI Clerk Pay Scale will be Rs. 11,765/- with an annual increment of Rs. 655/-. After 3 years, your salary will increase to Rs. 13,730/-. After another 3 years, it will be Rs. 16,715 /- followed by Rs. 20,095/- after another 4 years. After another 7 years, your salary will be Rs. 28,110/- and so on. Your maximum salary will reach Rs. 31,450/-. After a while, your salary will increase rapidly along with your career path at the bank.

SBI Clerk 2020 Exam Dates

State Bank of India has released the exam dates for SBI Clerk Prelims exam and the admit card is now available to download. SBI Clerk 2020 exam is taking place on 22nd, 29th February and 1st and 8th March 2020. There are a total of around 8000 vacancies for Junior Associates.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2020

The selection procedure of SBI Clerk Recruitment consists of 3 different stages as mentioned below:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam
  3. Test of Official and/or Local Language

This year, i.e. SBI Clerk Notification 2020, there is no sectional cut offs!

Phase I – Prelims Exam

The SBI Prelims exam consists of an objective test conducted online. There is no minimum qualifying marks for the individual subject as well as for the aggregate (overall) score.

Point to be Remembered:

  • Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • No minimum qualifying marks for an individual subject as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed.
  • Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

Phase II – Mains Exam

The SBI Clerk Main exam will consist of an online objective test consisting of  200 questions.

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2020

SBI evaluates your eligibility on the basis of your age and educational qualifications.  

1.SBI Age Limit for Clerk Exam 2020 (as on 1st January 2020)

If you fall in the age bracket of 20 to 28 years, then you are eligible to apply for the SBI Clerk exam.

Minimum Age – 20 years

Maximum Age – 28 years

SBI Age Relaxation for Clerk Exam 2020 (as on 1st January 2020)

The SBI Clerk 2019 Age Relaxation for different categories are as follows:

  • 3 years for OBC (Non – Creamy Layer)
  • 5 years for SC/ST; Ex-Servicemen,
  • Commissioned Officers with 5 yearsā€™ service completed & released and Jammu & Kashmir domiciled during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989
  • 10 years for PWD (General)
  • 13 years for PWD (OBC)
  • 15 years for PWD (SC/ST)
