Now that you know the new RBI Assistant Exam Pattern, you should start your preparation accordingly. The following RBI Assistant Exam Preparation Tips for Assistant will help you kick-start your preparation.

#1. Know the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern In & Out!

In 2016, it was the first time that the RBI Assistant exam is taking place in two phases ā€“ Prelims and Mains. Previously there was only a single exam. Whether youā€™ve taken this particular exam before or not, the Prelim & Main pattern has become a familiar one for most banking aspirants. But donā€™t get too cocky. Make sure you understand whether there are sectional time limits. Also, know whether you can switch between sections.

#2. General Time Management Tips for RBI Assistant Exam

Start your exam with those subjects and topics that you are most comfortable with. A general attempt pattern is given below.

English Language ā€“ 10 to 15 min

Quantitative Aptitude ā€“ 25 min

Logical Reasoning ā€“ 20 to 25 min.

A general rule of thumb is that even if you donā€™t attempt all 100 questions, make sure you have SEEN all 100 questions. So that you have the chance to pick and choose the questions you want to attempt first.

#3. Itā€™s a Sectional Game!

Remember that to qualify the prelims phase of RBI exam you have to clear the sectional cut off as well as the overall cutoff. So, donā€™t neglect any section. Never get stuck on your favourite or least favourite section. Set yourself hard time limits for each section. Then move on. Also, factor in the time it will take you to navigate from one section to another. Your aim, after all, is not to score maximum in any section. You need to clear cut offs in each section, while maximizing your overall score.

#4. The Trick is What You Donā€™t Attempt!

In the exam, your strategy should not be such that you start solving the question as soon as it appears on the screen. Before starting on solving the question, you have to first think ā€œIs it worth solving?ā€ Only after seeing the question will you get to know the difficulty level. And the examiners have a way of hiding the easy questions at the end. While you may come across some questions at the beginning that are really time-consuming. The only way to make sure you maximize your score is by taking a look at all the questions and picking the ones you want to solve.
